Ruffed Grouse Lodge is located in Elk Township, within three miles of Phillip’s town center. Located in the heart of Price County, the Ruffed Grouse Capital of the World as designated by the Ruffed Grouse Society, Elk is in the center of Wisconsin’s Northwoods with over 1.2 million acres of huntable land and the largest ruffed grouse and woodcock population in the nation. RGL has a free, sheltered, heated dog kennel.
Along with winter comes cross-county skiing, ice fishing and snowmobiling. Price County has over 500 miles of interconnected trails groomed by local clubs. There are also 80 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. The famed American Birkebeiner is held each year in nearby Hayward.
